Does anyone else find it unsettling that Robert Soliz was found not guilty despite the circumstances? I’m really struggling with the jury’s decision here, especially considering the impact on Sergeant Rios’s family. Having four kids left without a father is so unimaginable and my heart goes out to them. I know the legal system is complex and self-defense claims can be tricky, but it just seems like such an unjust outcome given the loss our community has faced. I hope those kids know how proud their dad must have been, both as a Marine and a dedicated officer. November 18 now holds so much significance, and I’m glad we have a day to honor him. It’s important that we continue to support and remember the sacrifices of those who protect us.
