I've been following the Edgar Treviño case closely, and one part that really caught my attention is the role of the people who were present during the shooting. It's hard to imagine the fear and panic they must have felt when they were ordered to leave the house during such a traumatic event. I understand why there might be criticism for Jaqueline Duenes, Roberto Rafael Martinez, and Noe Ochoa for not reporting the shooting immediately. However, I think it's essential to consider the intense fear and shock that they might have experienced. Witnessing a crime and being unsure of what to do in the heat of the moment could lead anyone to make choices they later regret. It's a tragic reminder of how high-stakes situations can affect judgment, but it also underscores the importance of having systems in place to support and protect witnesses who come forward to report crimes. My thoughts are with Edgar’s family and friends as they continue to cope with this loss and seek justice for him.
