I keep thinking about how close-knit Teague is and how Von Staggs was such an integral part of this community. The tragedy of her murder is compounded by the fact that it happened in such a public place—a reminder that even familiar, safe spaces can become sites of unthinkable violence. It’s chilling to think this happened in the parking lot of the very grocery store where she worked and was known by many. What strikes me most is how Von’s life was so deeply intertwined with the community. Whether grabbing a coffee at McDonald’s or attending service at Cedar Stone Church, she was undoubtedly a familiar face to many. Her involvement shows just how much she cared and the impact she had. The fact that the case still hasn’t been solved must be so painful for her family and friends. I can’t imagine the anguish they must feel, not only from the loss but from the ongoing uncertainty about who could’ve done such a thing. Sending strength to all who knew her. I sincerely hope that someone comes forward with information soon so we can bring some peace and closure in her memory.
