I was thinking about the surveillance footage from the Angelwitch Cabaret. It's baffling and incredibly painful to imagine what his family must feel watching that. Seeing such a clear depiction of a loved one's last moments has to be heart-wrenching. It’s amazing how technology can aid in justice, like capturing Shaw’s actions, but equally haunting for those left behind. My thoughts are with Joseph’s son; having to grow up knowing that video footage of his father's death exists is such an additional burden for such a young child. I truly hope the community rallies around him and Joseph's family in these trying times. Healing and justice can coexist, and I hope they find both.
Hey everyone,
I’ve been following the case of Joseph Burks and something that really stood out to me is how his family is coping with this monumental loss. It's moving to see how they’re honoring Joseph’s memory by sharing stories about his life and character. I read somewhere that they've created a scrapbook for his son, filled with pictures and letters from people who knew Joseph. This small, but meaningful act of preserving his memory is truly beautiful.
It's hard enough for a child to lose a parent, let alone under such tragic circumstances. This act of creating a memory book shows the family's resilience and love. It's their way of ensuring that Joseph's son grows up knowing how loved and cherished his father was. My heart goes out to them, especially to his little boy.
This community can be powerful in moments like these. If anyone knows the Burks family personally or has suggestions on how we can offer more support, please share. It would be nice to do something in solidarity or to contribute more than just thoughts and prayers.
Holding the family in my thoughts during this difficult time.
I can't stop thinking about how hard this must be for Joseph's little boy. Losing a parent at such a young age is incredibly difficult, and my heart goes out to him. It sounds like Joseph was an amazing father, and I hope the community can come together to support his son in every way possible moving forward. It must be comforting for him to have a family that's so dedicated to making sure Joseph's love is always remembered. If anyone has info on resources for children who've lost a parent in such tragic circumstances, it might be helpful to share with the family. I can't imagine what they're going through right now. ?️
