Has anyone looked into whether there were any other suspicious activities or fires reported on Pickell Hill around the time Gerald's rental car was found? I find it odd that the car was not only abandoned but also burned. It makes me think someone might have wanted to destroy evidence. Given how close the location is to his aunt's home, I wonder if there's any significance there. It's been so long, but maybe there's an angle the investigators missed related to that area. Anyone local remember if this was a high-crime area back then? Curious to hear if other unexplained fires happened in that place or if this was a one-off incident.

Saw something interesting while going through some old articles about Gerald Michael Holmes' disappearance. Has anyone else noticed the odd choice of location where Gerald's rental car was found? Pickell Hill is pretty remote and out of the way, yet it was less than two miles from his aunt's home. It just feels like a really unusual spot to abandon and burn a car if the intention was to cover tracks. I keep wondering why there? Was it supposed to be a signal or warning, perhaps intentional to pick a place nearby where family lived? It's so perplexing that his own apartment showed signs of forced entry, but nothing was taken. To me, it seems like someone might have been trying to send a message or intimidate. Does anyone local to that area remember anything unusual happening around that time?
