His family is still waiting for justice. Trine has not been arraigned yet. It will be three years in December.

Travis County Criminal Courts Administration lists Trine Hunt Spaeth with a charge of murder. The current court setting is January 22, 2027, at 9:15 a.m., designated “JTR,” indicating a jury-trial setting. An earlier court schedule had listed an October 19, 2026 jury-trial date, so the it appears to have been postponed or rescheduled. The October court document specifically states that its information was current as of 6:00 a.m. that day, making the January 22, 2027 date the day of of the trial. Seems like it is taking forever but it is moving.

I can't stop thinking about the Spaeth case; Stephen was apparently well-liked in his community, and this tragedy has really rattled the neighborhood. It’s so upsetting that something like this could happen right outside his home. I wonder if there were any signs of trouble that just went unnoticed. Trine being found just a few houses away with the weapon is chilling. It makes you think about what might have unfolded between them that day. My thoughts are with Stephen’s family during this incredibly difficult time. It’s important for anyone who might have seen or heard something to come forward—I hope sharing more insights could lead to some answers and maybe, in time, some sense of closure for those affected.
