I've been reading about Officer Robert Burns, and I can't help but think about the unpredictable nature of life's everyday moments. To think he was simply trying to get home feeling unwell, like we all do sometimes, and was faced with such violence is just unfathomable. It saddens me deeply to know that his dedication to his work, which should have been a source of pride and safety, somehow put him in harm's way even while off duty. His family must have gone through so much pain, knowing that an act of kindness or discipline could lead to such senseless violence. My heart goes out to them, especially his daughters who lost their father in such a sudden and tragic manner. It's a stark reminder of how fragile life is and how the risks taken by those in law enforcement and corrections extend far beyond the walls of their workplace. Sending thoughts of strength and peace to everyone who knew and loved Officer Burns.

I’ve been thinking a lot about how random and unfair life can be after learning more about Officer Robert Burns' case. It's so chilling to think he was just trying to get home after feeling unwell, and this senseless act of violence took him away from his family. From what I understand, working as a correctional officer comes with its own set of dangers, but you wouldn't expect something like this to happen outside of the job, at a bus stop, of all places. My heart goes out to his wife and daughters who had to navigate life without him. It's a stark reminder of the fragility of life and the unexpected turns it can take. I hope his family found some peace and strength over the years. It must have been so painful for them.
