I can't stop thinking about how brave Amy Shaffer was during the sentencing. I can't even imagine the strength it took for her to stand there and speak about her son, Justin. Her emotional plea really struck a chord with me. It must be incredibly hard for Justin's family to go through this ordeal, especially knowing the senselessness of the crime that took him away. It's a sad reminder of how quickly lives can be changed in an instant by someone else's reckless actions. My heart goes out to her and the entire family, as well as to Jacob Carter, who was there with Justin. I hope they continue to find strength and support in each other and the community around them.
