Has anyone else been following the case of George Dillard and Lakita Hicks? I can't stop thinking about their little boy. It's horrifying to think about what he went through and how that 911 call must have changed his life forever. It's a relief to know he's physically unharmed, but the emotional and psychological impact must be unimaginable. I hope he’s receiving all the support and care he needs during what must be an incredibly confusing time, even all these years later. I read that the indictment happened right around George's birthday. I wonder if this offers some small solace to their families, knowing justice is making its way through. The strength they all continue to show is remarkable. If anyone local hears more about community support efforts for the child, please share. It’s moments like these that remind us how important it is to rally around those who suffer from such senseless violence.
