I’ve been reading through posts about Carly Juliene Ellis, and I can't shake the feeling that this young woman was taken from the world far too soon. One aspect of her case that I keep thinking about is her involvement in the sorority at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. I bet it was like a second family to her. Being part of a sorority is such a bonding experience, and I’m sure her sisters must have been devastated by her loss. It’s heartbreaking to think about how they had to cope with both the sudden absence of their friend and the brutality of her death. I can’t help but wonder how they’ve been processing everything since then, especially considering the nature of the incident. Has anyone heard if Sigma Kappa Theta Phi or the university did anything special to honor Carly’s memory? I hope they created some kind of memorial or scholarship fund to keep her spirit alive. It’s stories like these that remind us of the preciousness of life and the ripple effects one person can have on so many lives.
