I've been thinking a lot about the impact Tierney's murder must have had on her family, especially her sisters and brother. It’s unimaginable to lose a sibling so suddenly and violently. I remember when I first heard about it; the fact that Melanie was right there and survived while losing her sister must be so traumatizing. I'm sure that kind of experience leaves a lasting imprint on someone’s soul.
I’ve read that the community in Southeast Memphis really came together in the days following the incident, holding vigils and offering support to Tierney’s family. It’s comforting to know they weren’t alone in their grief, but it doesn’t change the fact that there hasn’t been any closure. It’s so frustrating that the person responsible is still out there.
Has anyone here been following updates from the police? I know it’s been years, but we can’t lose hope that someone knows something or that new evidence might come to light. My heart goes out to the entire Reid family, and I truly wish for them to find some peace and justice someday.
Hey everyone,
I came across Tierney Reid's case again and something that's stuck with me is the location aspect. It just breaks my heart thinking about how she lost her life in what should've been a safe space—her own home. I've read that Southeast Memphis had a higher crime rate around that time, but it doesn't make it any less shocking or painful to know this happened at her front door.
Does anyone local to Memphis remember if there were any community efforts or neighborhood watches set up in response to this tragedy? It feels like the kind of event that might have motivated folks to come together for safety. Sending all my love to Tina, James, Melanie, and the rest of the family. It's so hard to imagine what they continue to go through.
If anyone has more insights or updates on the case, please share. Tierney deserves justice.
Stay safe, everyone.
