I know many of us have been following Trey Mitchell's case, and I just can't stop thinking about his little girl, Addilyn. I can't imagine how tough it must be for a child to grow up without her dad around, especially knowing how much he loved her and how bravely he acted trying to protect his grandmother. It's a painful reminder of how senseless acts of violence can create ripples that affect the smallest members of our communities. My heart really goes out to her and to Trey's parents, Tonya and Samuel Jr., who not only lost a son but have to see their granddaughter experience this loss too.
