It's truly distressing to see how Steven's case has affected his community and left his family searching for answers. Something that's been on my mind is the potential role of eyewitnesses. With the incident happening in a relatively busy area near a state office building, you would think there might be more individuals who witnessed something, even if they don't realize it yet. The fact that a high-rise resident was able to see and report Steven's body from a distance suggests there should have been more people around who could have seen or heard something unusual leading up to it. I'm hoping that someone comes forward soon—it could make all the difference in moving the investigation forward. If anyone was in the area back in March 2022 and remembers anything, even if it seems minor, it might be worth sharing with the police. Fingers crossed for a breakthrough soon, so his loved ones can find some peace.
I was going through the case details about Steven Godwin's tragic death and something caught my attention—the location where he was found. The Citizen Plaza State Office Building area has always been busy because of all the office workers and transit riders. It baffles me that an altercation leading to a fatal shooting could happen there without more people coming forward as witnesses. Given the time it occurred, I'd assume someone might have seen or heard something that could help. I understand people get nervous about stepping into ongoing investigations, but it's crucial for any potential witnesses to reach out, even anonymously. Steven and his family deserve justice, and the community needs to feel secure in their streets again. If you were around the WeGo bus station that evening or know anyone who might have been, please encourage sharing any details with the authorities. Every bit helps.
