I recently came across the story of Detective Corporal John Robert Christian Jr., and it’s been on my mind ever since. I'm thinking about his family, especially his wife and three kids. The courage it must have taken to serve both as a Marine and a police officer is truly commendable, and losing someone like him must have been a huge blow to everyone who knew him. One thing that really stands out to me is the recklessness of the suspect when he was eventually caught in Trenton. To open fire on officers during the arrest shows such a disregard for life. It just reinforces what a dangerous person they were dealing with. I hope the justice served brings some level of closure to Detective Corporal Christian's family, even though nothing can really fill the void of such a loss. I’m grateful for his service and deeply sorry for what his loved ones had to endure. Anyone know if there’s been any memorial set up in his honor? Knowing more about how communities rally after these tragedies can sometimes bring a little light to such dark events.
