It's just devastating to think about how Alesia Hynson's cries for help went unheard. The fact that she reached out to the police the day before her murder and they couldn't find her is really disturbing. This failure adds layers of sadness to an already tragic story. I've been reading about the lawsuit her family filed and honestly, it makes you think about how things might have been different if the system worked the way it should have. I can't help but wonder how many other victims out there are trying to seek help and getting lost in the cracks. Sending strength to Alesia's family and hoping for real changes so that this doesn't keep happening to others.
