It's been a difficult time for everyone touched by this tragedy at the Brandywine YMCA. One aspect that strikes me personally is the response from the community and the YMCA staff amidst such chaos. I can't help but feel grateful for the quick thinking and bravery shown by the staff on site. From the reports, it seems like their immediate action to secure the building and ensure the safety of over 100 people, especially the children, was nothing short of heroic. It's moments like these that remind us of the importance of emergency preparedness and the unsung heroes in our community who handle unimaginable situations with such poise. The YMCA and first responders played an invaluable role that day, getting everyone to safety and preventing further tragedy. As we process the loss of Jacinda Miller, it’s heartwarming to see the community supporting her children and honoring her memory. Let's continue to push for awareness around domestic violence and ensure that support systems are readily available for those in need.
