Anyone familiar with the area where Rodney Trumbo went missing? I’ve hiked a bit around the San Bernardino Mountains, and that terrain can get treacherous pretty quickly, especially if you’re off the trails. If he was searching for his belongings off the Rim of the World Highway, it’s easy to see how someone could get turned around or end up in a dangerous spot without realizing it. I can't imagine searching a canyon without a phone or any way of keeping track of time or direction. Does anyone remember if there were any weather issues around that time in November 2013? I wonder if fog or rain could have come up unexpectedly.
