I've been following the discussion on Justin Wiley's case and wanted to bring up the point about how crucial witness statements were during the trial. It's chilling to think about the bravery required for those witnesses to come forward, especially with the stakes so high. They not only had to recall the traumatic events but also faced the intimidating prospect of testifying in court. Their courage contributed significantly to the prosecution's case against Dawuan Carson. This act of coming forward, despite fear, perhaps gave Justin's family some sense of justice. It reminds me of how important community is in seeking justice. Does anyone know if there have been any initiatives or events in Erie to support eyewitnesses in similar cases? It seems like a lot of these trials hinge on the community’s willingness to speak up. My heart goes out to Justin's loved ones.

I’ve been following Justin Wiley’s case since it first hit the news, and something that truly stands out to me is how beloved he was in the Erie community. Cathedral Prep has always been known for its close-knit alumni, and Justin was no exception. He seemed to have made quite an impact on those around him, both on and off the field. Does anyone have more information on how his community or former teammates have been keeping his memory alive? I imagine they must have done something to honor his legacy. For many victims' families and friends, remembering the good times and achievements can be a way to cope with such a tremendous loss. It's sad to think how much Justin could have accomplished had his life not been cut so short. Also, wondering what the community is doing now to address violence and if there’s been any change or initiative that links back to Justin’s story. Always hopeful for more peaceful change in the community, and sending love to those who knew him.
