It's truly unsettling to think about the impact that this tragic event had on the local community, especially the students at Westinghouse High School. Having the school go into lockdown must have been terrifying for the kids, not to mention worrisome for their parents. It’s situations like these that underscore how violence doesn’t just affect the immediate victims and their families, but also ripples out, affecting entire neighborhoods and the everyday lives of those who live there. I hope that Diron's family can find some semblance of peace and that the authorities can gather the information they need to bring those responsible to justice. Community safety should be a concern for all of us, and I'm hoping that anyone with knowledge, no matter how small, will feel compelled to speak up.
