Could the location of John Pappas' car provide any new clues? He was last seen heading to Jo-Jo's restaurant, but his car was found at Circus Circus. It's been puzzling me as to why it ended up there. Maybe it's nothing, but it makes me wonder whether he was actually meeting someone different from the alleged boat buyers or if something happened along the way. Circus Circus was a hotspot in the 70s, especially with all the casino industry's connections and notorious figures around. It’s possible someone moved the car there to throw off investigators or to send a message related to his mob connections. Does anyone have insights on any surveillance footage from that era or anything about who frequented Circus Circus around the time he vanished? It'd be great if newly unearthed leads or the general state of Lake Mead could finally provide some answers.
Is anyone else curious about the choice of Jo-Jo's restaurant as the meeting place for John Pappas? I’ve been digging a bit and apparently, Jo-Jo's was a well-known spot back in the day but not exactly a high-profile location for business deals like the one Pappas supposedly had lined up with those guys about his boat. Given his connections in the casino industry and ties to some pretty serious folks, I find it odd he’d choose a somewhat low-key place to discuss such a significant transaction. Was it really safe for him, considering all the connections he had? Makes me wonder if this was set up to be more than just a simple boat sale. Anyone have insight into the kind of people who frequented Jo-Jo's back in the 70s or if it had any notable ties to the mafia scene?
