I wanted to mention something that hasn't been discussed much about Jamal Dean's tragic case—the awful emotional toll this must be taking on his ex-girlfriend. She was reportedly one of the people he was visiting that night.
Being in any way connected to such a chilling incident must be unbelievably distressing, especially when it involves someone you once cared about. I can't begin to imagine the shock and horror she must have experienced both during and after the ordeal. Having to relive that night and deal with the aftermath is going to weigh heavily on her. I sincerely hope she has a strong support network around her to navigate such a traumatic time.
This really highlights how multifaceted the ramifications of gun violence are, affecting not just the immediate victim's family, but extending to others in their orbit who are left with immense emotional burdens. I hope justice is swift and brings some measure of peace to all who loved Jamal.
