I recently came across Ahmad N. Abrams' story and can’t help but feel a profound sense of loss for his community. Just thinking about how much Ahmad had accomplished at such a young age is incredibly moving—college acceptance letters, potential futures in both the Navy reserves and college, and tremendous talent in sports and arts. It’s a chilling reminder of how much potential can be lost due to senseless violence. Ahmad seemed like he had such a bright future ahead of him. As a counselor at the Athletic Rec Center and his involvement with the Philadelphia Youth Network, it's clear he was already giving back to his community. His family must be going through unimaginable pain right now. My heart goes out to them and to everyone in North Philadelphia who felt Ahmad's positive presence. Let's hope that justice is served and actions are taken to prevent tragedies like this from happening again.
