Has anyone else wondered about the timing of Long's arrest in relation to Larry Romine's death? It's really concerning how long Long was able to carry out these attacks without being stopped. I can't help but think about the families of the victims, especially Larry's. Knowing that someone like Long was out there for years must have been terrifying. It's such a relief that he was apprehended, but the pain and fear he caused are unimaginable. It's clear there were systemic failures that contributed to this tragedy, and I hope lessons were learned to prevent anything like this from happening again. The resilience of Larry's family and the other victims' families in the face of such senseless violence is truly moving. My thoughts are with them, even after all these years.

Does anyone have more information on the community response in Dayton after the arrest of Neal Long? I've been reading up on Larry Romine's case, and it made me wonder how the local residents dealt with such a horrific period. It's clear that Long's actions left a scar on the community, but I haven't found much detailing collective efforts to heal or any memories from that time shared by people who lived through it. I can only imagine how Larry’s family and others affected must have struggled with the loss and anger. It's a heavy chapter in Dayton's history, and understanding the community's perspective could provide some insight into how they began to rebuild and move forward after such senseless violence. If anyone has personal anecdotes or knows of resources that capture the community's reaction post-1975, I’d genuinely appreciate it.
