Hey everyone, I've been digging into Dorothy Murrell's disappearance, and something that's been bugging me is the whole confession from Terry Butler. I mean, he claims he mistook her for an intruder and things went horribly wrong, but how does someone actually make that mistake? Especially with how close Dorothy and Terry lived to each other. Did anyone find it odd that despite his story, the search for her remains turned up empty? It just doesn't line up for me. If he genuinely knew where he disposed of her, wouldn’t there have been something found eventually? Also, I couldn’t find any info on whether there was an investigation into his past behavior. Hopeful that sharing our thoughts keeps her story alive.

I'm hoping to get more insights from those who live or have lived in the Newport area around the time Dorothy Murrell disappeared. From what I've read, Terry Butler's confession about accidentally shooting her is chilling, especially without any remains ever found. Does anyone know what the community's reaction was when he came forward with that story? Were there any protests or community efforts to search after his confession? It's hard to wrap my head around how things seemed to stall after a supposed confession. It must have been a tense time locally. Any recollections or stories from locals might help shed more light on a community's perspective during such a baffling situation.

Hey everyone, I recently got drawn into Dorothy Murrell's case from Newport, TN, and something's been bugging me. So, Terry Butler confessed to accidentally shooting her, claiming he thought she was an intruder. But here's the thing—how common is it for someone to make such a massive mistake, especially with a neighbor you've presumably seen around? I keep thinking there could be more to this story. What if it wasn't just a case of mistaken identity? Was there any history of disputes? Also, Butler disposing of the body in a dumpster seems like a panic move, but what about tracking down which dumpster, or if anyone witnessed odd behavior on his part back then? It's been so long, yet feels like there might be details that haven't surfaced. Would love to hear anyone's thoughts or theories.
