I've been thinking a lot about how Paul Griffin must have felt on that day in November 1995. Imagine just going about your day, maybe looking forward to dinner or seeing your family, and then your world is brutally interrupted by someone you probably never saw as a threat. It's truly chilling to think about how a single knock on the door changed everything. What’s really troubling is how workplace disputes can escalate into something so violent. I can't help but wonder if there were any warning signs that Hessler was spiraling. It makes me appreciate how important it is to take threats seriously and support mental health initiatives in work environments. It’s these reflections that hopefully lead us to become more vigilant and compassionate, preventing more tragedies and supporting the families who are left to pick up the pieces. My heart goes out to all the victims, their families, and anyone who was affected by this terrible series of events.

I've been thinking about how Paul Griffin opened the door of his home that day, expecting maybe a neighbor or a friend, only to face his worst nightmare. Imagine the trust and safety you associate with your own front door, only for it to be shattered in an instant. It's chilling and profoundly sad to consider how such violence intruded into the sanctuary of his home. My heart really goes out to his family and friends who've had to carry on without him for all these years. It's also just so troubling that Hessler had compiled a list of his peers to harm. I can't help but wonder about the warning signs, if any, that could have been missed, and how we can do better in recognizing and acting on them to prevent such tragedies in the future.
