I’ve been thinking a lot about the first responders who are left behind to process such trauma when they lose one of their own in the line of duty like with Officer Kerstetter. It's incredibly tough to imagine what his colleagues went through that day and in the days afterward. They were not just responding to a routine call, but ended up in an unimaginable situation that resulted in losing a friend and a mentor. The aftermath for such officers must be unimaginable, especially when having to continue serving and protecting the community. I hope the department and community have strong support systems in place for them. Officer Kerstetter’s commitment was always evident, and it’s evident his legacy will continue to influence those who had the privilege to serve alongside him. My thoughts are truly with his family, colleagues, and all who are impacted by his loss. ?️
