I’ve been thinking a lot about Timothy Russell’s case, specifically how exhaust backfiring could have been mistaken for gunshots. It’s just mind-boggling. It makes me question how many other incidents might have started from misunderstandings or misinterpretations. I mean, if the officers thought they were under fire, that alone speaks volumes about the tense atmosphere they operated in. But still, 137 shots!? It’s almost incomprehensible. My thoughts are with Timothy Russell's and Malissa Williams’ families. What they’ve gone through is unimaginable, and I sincerely hope they're finding some sense of peace or closure. Anyone else have thoughts on how these miscommunications could have been managed differently?
