Has anyone else thought about the impact on the children who were sleeping in the duplex that night? I can't imagine the trauma they must have experienced. It's one thing to hear stories about violence, but to actually live through such a terrifying event, especially for young ones, is something else entirely. I hope they're getting the support they need to process what happened. My heart goes out to them and everyone else affected by this senseless tragedy. It's so important that we, as a community, do everything we can to offer our support and help prevent this kind of violence in the future.
Reading about Carlton Gibbs-Green, I can’t stop thinking about the absolute terror those children must have experienced that night. It's deeply unsettling to imagine them being in the middle of such chaos while they should have been safe and sound. It makes me grateful for the things we often take for granted, like feeling secure in our homes, but also highlights how quickly things can change. My heart goes out to Carlton's loved ones, and also to those kids who faced something no child ever should. It’s crucial we address how easily accessible weapons can transform disputes into tragedies. Peaceful conflict resolution needs more emphasis if we're to prevent another tragedy like this.
I’ve been reading about the tragic loss of Carlton Gibbs-Green, and something that’s been on my mind is the sheer negligence of firing into a home where children are present. I can’t begin to fathom the terror those kids and other residents must have felt. Children shouldn’t have to experience such a terrifying reality, and it really underscores how reckless and thoughtless actions can ripple out and harm so many lives. Sending thoughts to all who are healing from this traumatic event. It’s a reminder of how much we need to prioritize safety in our communities and look out for one another.
