I've been thinking a lot about the role of community when tragedies like Roderick Davis’s death occur. It’s so sad how disputes related to drug activity often spiral into violence. Pannell Avenue, like so many neighborhoods, is just trying to be a safe place for families, and it's painful when that safety is shattered. Roderick was clearly trying to protect his children from a harmful environment, which is something any parent can identify with and respect. I hope his actions serve as a wake-up call for local leaders to prioritize safety and support for communities dealing with these issues. It’s important for us to come together and address the roots of these problems before they escalate into such irreversible losses. My thoughts are with Denise Ibaka and the Davis family during this tough time.
