I'm really puzzled about the timings in Victor Shiloh Barbour's disappearance from the Miss Mickie. According to the reports, the crew realized he was missing only after they had been at sea for several hours. Does anyone know if there’s any protocol for regular headcounts or checks on such vessels? It's hard to believe someone could go overboard without anyone noticing for so long. I feel for his family, not having any certainty or answers. If anyone has worked on a fishing vessel, can you shed light on how often such checks are usually done?
