Victor Shiloh Barbour known locally by the nickname “Shiloh,” was twenty years old when he disappeared from Bayou La Batre, Alabama. On January 6, 1988—his 20th birthday—he was serving as the first mate aboard a commercial fishing vessel named the *Miss Mickie*. According to investigators, he was unexpectedly absent when the vessel returned to port and was soon reported missing.
