This case has been on my mind lately, and I can't stop thinking about the brave actions of the law enforcement officers who managed to capture Troy Michael Schory without further incident. It's difficult to imagine the tension during the standoff on Elmside Street in Alliance. The officers certainly deserve recognition for preventing potentially more violence. It's so unfortunate that Phillip E. Johnson's life was taken so suddenly and senselessly. My thoughts are with his family and friends, who must still be trying to process everything. It's sad to see another community affected by such violence, and I hope we can continue to push for change to prevent these tragedies.
