I've been fascinated by the mysterious disappearance of Mabel Tresner for a while. Something that's been gnawing at me is the unlocked front door. Mabel was known for her cautious nature, so leaving her door unlocked just doesn't sit right. It's almost as if someone wanted to make it appear that she left in a hurry or perhaps left something open to give whoever was involved easy access. Also, all her personal belongings being left behind makes me wonder whether it might have been someone she knew. Somebody could have coerced her to leave in the middle of the night. Has anyone else thought about this angle? Her being spotted near the Roosevelt Bridge in a nightgown feels so out of character too. I can't shake the feeling that someone close to her might be involved — maybe someone from her church or the thrift store? What are the odds it was random? Desperate for any other thoughts or theories!

Hey everyone, something that keeps gnawing at me about Mabel Tresner's case is the unlocked door. Was talking with a friend about it, and we both agree it's so strange given her knack for being extra cautious. I mean, an 80-year-old woman living alone would likely be extra careful about securing her home, don't you think? Did she maybe know someone who might have come in? It's been bothering me how that door being open could point to either her leaving in a hurry or maybe something more sinister. The fact that her essentials were left behind — especially her dentures and eyeglasses — it’s like she meant to return, right? Or she left under duress? I can't shake this feeling that whoever might have come to her door saw an opportunity. Really hope there's some new info that can help crack this mystery. What do you guys think—am I reading too much into this?
