Hi everyone, I'm hoping we can brainstorm some ideas on the general area where Demetrius Compton was tragically shot. I was just reviewing some maps, and East 153rd Street and Bartlett Avenue is a mix of residential and some vacant lots. It got me thinking about the line of sight there—could the shooter have been lurking in a nearby alley or was this more likely a random act?
It breaks my heart to think about Demetrius trying to make it to safety and collapsing on that porch. Such senseless violence. If anyone local can chime in on whether there have been other incidents in that area, it could help us understand if this was an isolated event or part of a larger pattern.
I really hope the community comes together to pressure for more answers. His family deserves that much. Please keep sharing and speaking up if you know anything that might help.
