I've been following Maya's case for a while now, and I can't stop thinking about how her plans and dreams were taken away so suddenly. She was just starting her life at college, full of potential and passion for art. I’ve read so many stories about her kindness and how she wanted to make a difference as a teacher. It's devastating to see such a promising life cut short. With the incident occurring in the chaos of such a large gathering, it’s disheartening to think that, despite hundreds being present, still, no one has been able to pinpoint the shooter. I can only imagine the pain and frustration her family must feel, particularly with the lack of progress over a year later. I know the community has offered a substantial reward for information. It’s so important for anyone who knows something, no matter how small it might seem, to come forward. Keeping silent doesn't just delay justice for Maya and the others hurt that night— it also impacts the safety of the community. I truly hope that with continued advocacy and support from those who knew her, there's a breakthrough in the case soon. Sending my deepest sympathies to Maya's loved ones during this incredibly challenging time.
