Has anyone else been thinking about the impact this has had on the local horse racing community? I've read several heartwarming accounts of how Leon was a mentor to so many young trainers and aspiring jockeys. It seems like he was such a positive influence and a big part of their lives. With his passing, I can only imagine how much his absence is felt at the Wayne County Fairgrounds. A friend of mine, who knew Leon through the community, mentioned how Leon used to host small workshops at his place where he'd share his knowledge and passion for horses. This murder has not only taken a beloved individual from his family but also from a community that cherished him and learned so much from him. I hope the police continue to receive tips and find those responsible for this senseless act. It’s unsettling to think that such a well-loved figure was taken in such a violent manner. My thoughts are with his family and everyone in the local horse racing scene during this challenging time.
