Leon Scott Case, a 51-year-old male of Caucasian ethnicity from Wooster, OH, tragically died on June 30, 2022. He was a well-known horse trainer at the Wayne County Fairgrounds and was deeply involved in the local horse racing community. Leon was born on January 13, 1971, in Norwalk, OH, to Leon and Donna Case. He is survived by his mother, sisters Lisa Hess-Case and Stacey Case, and his nieces and nephews.

One witness was also injured when a suspect struck him in the head with a glass coffee jar.
The suspects fled the scene on foot, and the investigation into Leon's murder remains ongoing. The Wooster Police Department has collected one firearm and multiple pieces of evidence from the scene. They are actively seeking information from the public to identify and apprehend the suspects. An Orrville man, 19 years old, has been charged with murder in connection with Leon's death.
