I’ve been doing some reading on the 1906 Massacre in Asheville, and something that's been stuck with me is how indiscriminate the violence was. It’s absolutely shocking to think about Tom Neil's final moments—one minute, he's just sitting on his porch, part of his daily routine, and the next, he's a victim of such senseless violence. This guy was in his own home, a place where everyone should feel safe. My heart goes out to his family and anyone who lived through that terrifying ordeal. It’s important that we remember these stories and the lives affected by such acts of violence. If anyone has more background on Tom's life, I’d be interested to learn more about who he was beyond this tragedy.
