I've been thinking a lot about the role the police played, or rather, didn't play during the Greensboro Massacre. It's truly baffling and upsetting that they were there on November 3, 1979, yet failed to step in and prevent the violence that led to the tragic loss of James Michael Waller and the others. How can a security force with the duty to protect allow something so horrific to unfold before their eyes? This event has left such deep scars on the community, especially for the families of the victims, who deserved justice and peace. Let's not forget that Waller and the CWP were there to stand up for strong principles—fighting for workers’ rights and pushing back against the hate the KKK represented. It’s so important to keep discussing this and not let these voices be silenced. Anyone have insights or theories about why the police might have stood by that day?
