Hey everyone, I recently stumbled upon something interesting regarding LeRoy Jernigan's tragic case. During the trial, I read that one of the defense witnesses for Samuel James Cooper tried to bring up his difficult upbringing as a factor in his behavior. It's so challenging to hear such things during trials because, on one hand, it paints a picture of a troubled past, but on the other, it doesn't bring any comfort to the families of the victims like the Jernigans. I can't imagine the emotional rollercoaster that LeRoy's family must have experienced hearing all the details, especially when nothing could justify what happened. It’s commendable how they've managed to transform their grief into positivity by supporting others in his memory. Thoughts?
