Anyone else been looking into Jerry Yi Avant Jr.'s background? I stumbled upon some details about his time in the Coast Guard, and I have to say, this man was truly remarkable. Serving our country for a decade is no small feat, and to then dedicate his life to nursing truly shows his commitment to helping others. It's no surprise he acted so heroically during the shooting. His selflessness seems to have been a core part of who he was, both in and out of uniform. My heart goes out to his family and everyone who knew him—losing someone like Jerry is beyond devastating. It's amazing how one person can touch so many lives in such profound ways. If anyone has any more personal stories about his time in the Coast Guard or his work as a nurse, I'd love to hear more and honor his memory.
