I recently came across Amanda's case and it really struck a chord with me, especially when I think about her son, Christopher. Being in high school is already such a tough time, and to experience the loss of a parent in such a traumatic way must have been incredibly difficult for him. I can't imagine the pain he went through. It's just so devastating to hear how domestic violence can shatter the lives of so many people, not only Amanda's. I'm hoping Christopher found some support from friends or school counselors. It looks like he was left with a huge void, and I truly wish him well in his journey to find healing and peace.
Does anyone else find the timeline of the 911 call and the deputies arriving at Amanda’s place really concerning? The call was made for a domestic disturbance on the night of October 15th, but when authorities arrived, there was nobody there. How does someone not be found in that span of time, and could something more have been done? It’s just so upsetting to think that maybe if someone had arrived sooner or looked harder, her life could have been saved. My heart goes out to Christopher and the rest of Amanda’s loved ones. It's so tragic that she wasn’t able to get the help she needed that night. It really makes you think about how these systems can be improved to prevent such a terrible tragedy from happening again.
