I’ve been thinking a lot about Steven Heald’s story in Porters Neck, and something that caught my attention is how vital workplace connections can be. The only reason authorities were alerted was because of the concern shown by Steven's co-worker when he didn’t show up for work. This simple act of reaching out shows how each small, caring action can have a much bigger impact in truly distressing circumstances. It’s a reminder to us all to look out for each other; sometimes it’s these connections that can make all the difference. My heart goes out to all those affected by this horrendous act, especially Steven's friends who sounded the alarm. It must be incredibly hard to lose someone under such devastating circumstances. I hope they find peace and support within their community, which must be going through so much right now.
