It's so difficult to wrap my head around the sheer pain the Stanley family must be enduring. I've been revisiting some of the details as this case unfolds, and something keeps gnawing at me. During the investigation, both the Johnston County Sheriff's Office and the NC State Highway Patrol were involved. Does anyone know if this is typical for such cases, or does it imply there's more complexity here than we're aware of? It just seems to signal that there might be layers to this tragedy that haven't been fully revealed yet. Gilbert seemed like such an integral part of his community, and it's just so devastating that his family has to navigate all this heartache on top of losing him. My heart truly goes out to them, and I really hope they find the justice and peace they deserve.
