It's so tragic to think about how a simple argument could escalate to such a devastating outcome. I can't stop thinking about the role that community ties play in these situations. From what I've read, Jeffrey Allen Ramsey Jr. actually stood up for Malik Eric Johnson when he first moved to the neighborhood. It's just baffling that this friendship ended so violently. How does trust break down so badly that one ends up in a confrontation where lives are lost? My heart goes out to Jeffrey’s family and friends, especially given how much he was loved and how he stepped in to protect someone he considered a friend. What could we be doing differently as a community to prevent these kinds of senseless tragedies?
