It’s so common for teens today to use social media as a platform for sharing their lives and communicating, but it can also escalate conflicts. I’m wondering if there were any social media interactions between Daceion, Blaise, and the suspects prior to the shooting. Was there any mention of online threats or disputes that might’ve contributed to this tragedy? The influence of social media on youth violence is concerning, and it’s heartbreaking to see how a tool meant for connection can have such dire consequences. My heart goes out to the families and everyone affected in Greenville. It's a reminder of the conversations we need to keep having with young people about resolving conflict in safer, healthier ways.
