Has anyone else been thinking about how crucial it is that online safety is taken more seriously after this awful tragedy? It really gets me every time I read about Matthew Chaplin and Jenna Hewitt's murders. I feel for Kate Chaplin, losing her dad and her friend, all because of someone she met online. It’s a stark reminder of how dangerous the internet can be if we’re not careful.
It's especially concerning how Bocek already had a history of criminal behavior. Knowing this, it’s terrifying to think he was still able to threaten Kate and her family, and then commit such a horrendous act. This case makes me wonder about how we can better protect those who are vulnerable and prevent something like this from happening again.
