What really sticks with me about Amaru's case is the sheer bravery of his mother, Nicole Awad. During the trial, she had to relive every parent's worst nightmare, yet she still found the strength to testify and ensure that her son's story was heard. Her courage amidst such a devastating loss can't be overstated. I can't imagine the pain she must have felt, being in the same room as one of the suspects accused of taking her son's life. It's so unfair that she has to go through this, but her determination to seek justice is a testament to a mother's love. Sending all my thoughts to Nicole and the entire Carroll-Lee family as they face these difficult times. Hoping the community continues to rally around them for support. ?️
