Has anyone looked into the possible connections between Orben "Lee" Dorrell's disappearance and other missing persons cases linked to organized crime in the late 1970s? Given the nature of the federal investigation he was involved in, it seems plausible that there might be a network of criminal activity that could have influenced his disappearance. It's interesting that his car was found at the airport—could this have been a staged attempt to make it look like he fled? Or maybe he was trying to escape and was intercepted. Would love to hear if anyone else has theories or more info on other cases with potential ties to his.

Does anyone else find it super strange that Dorrell’s car was found at the airport with no signs he actually boarded a flight? I mean, what happened between him or someone dropping off the car and getting on a plane? If he was trying to disappear on his own terms, wouldn’t there be some record of it, even under a fake name or something? Hard to believe in this big of a case, they wouldn't have checked all those angles. Plus, if there was a safety threat looming over him, the airport seems like a very public and risky place to make an escape or meet up with someone. Makes me wonder if he had alternative plans that were cut short. I really wish we could know more about the investigation's findings on any airport footage or records from back then. Does anyone have insight into how thoroughly they checked those leads at KCI?

I’ve been digging into Orben "Lee" Dorrell's case, and something keeps bugging me about the timing of events leading up to his disappearance. I find it intriguing how his car was left near the airport on February 10, weeks after he was last seen. It's like he was trying to leave town. Was he running from danger, or was it staged to make it look that way? Given his background as a retired officer, he might have known how to disappear if he needed to. But if he planned to vanish, you’d think he’d contact his family or leave behind a more obvious trace. It seems like he had too much riding on the line with the impending charges. What does everyone think? Could the airport car dump be a red herring planted by someone involved in the fraud scheme to mislead investigators? This one's really puzzling me!
