Orben "Lee" Dorrell, a 52-year-old retired police officer from Kansas City, Missouri, was last seen on January 18, 1978. Dorrell's disappearance occurred amidst a federal investigation into a mail fraud and bankruptcy scheme in which he was allegedly involved. The scheme reportedly involved two businesses operated for the purpose of fraudulent bankruptcy, and Dorrell, along with other co-defendants, faced multiple charges.
